There’s been a few recent additions to www.sven-magnus.com that I’m excited to share.

I added a short stories section.

For some time, I’ve aspired to write fiction, but have been too intimidated by the art form to put pen to paper.

I think my apprehension comes from being an avid reader of the genre, and having high standards that probably go well beyond my abilities.

Reading fiction that is good versus fiction that is bad is the difference between watching a broadway theatre production and an elementary school play. The gap between the two is insurmountable, and unless maybe your child is in it, the latter of them is unbearable.

However, I was so inspired after reading a collection of Hemingway short stories that I decided to put those fears aside and give it a go.

That burst of inspiration resulted in the two stories you see there now.

As a medium, the short story feels like a lower barrier to entry for writing fiction.

You’re not committed to writing the next great American novel, so you can just relax and develop an idea as it comes to you without too much forethought or planning in advance.

If you’re interested you should check them out. I had a lot of fun writing them and hope to write more soon.

I added a consecutive days meditated counter

The inspiration to add this came from my goal to incorporate meditation in my daily routine.

I would stick to it for several days and then forget about it entirely.

There’s nothing like some external pressure to jog one’s memory, so I decided to make public the number of days I successfully followed through.

At this time I am going

4

days strong.

I added a reading list

Many of the people I most admire are voracious readers.

Something I noticed, is that a lot of them had lists to keep track of what they had read and still wanted to read, so I decided to make my own list.

It’s pretty short right now because it felt like cheating to just write down every book I had ever read, so I kept it fairly recent.

I’ve also been slow to fill the list out because I want to be selective and only write down titles that I actually intend to read.

If you have any recks send them my way!
